The Shipping Desk
The Shipping Desk is the editorial voice. One persona. One job: read the software and AI market so you don't have to. We aim for one useful idea per post: what changed, what it costs, and what to do about it, four times a week. If a paragraph doesn't earn its word count, we cut it before you see it.
Who this is for
Technology and business decision-makers at organizations doing $10M+ in revenue: CTOs, VPs of Engineering, CISOs, COOs and operations leaders, procurement and IT buyers, and founders of mid-market companies. People who decide what to buy, what to build, and where to place the next bet. We write in terms of outcomes, cost, and risk, not implementation minutiae, and we respect your time.
Bring us a problem
Beyond the writing, NTSFS does one thing: independent solution-architecture guidance. Facing a software or AI decision and the path isn't obvious? Tell us the problem you're solving and we'll send back tailored direction on how best to proceed. No pitch, no sales call. Bring us the problem.
Independence
NTSFS has no parent company, no affiliated brands, no sponsors, and no sibling ventures. The analysis is vendor-neutral: when we compare options, we don't have a horse in the race. We don't recycle other companies' metrics or pretend their case studies are ours. The only thing we'll ever ask you to do is bring us a problem worth solving.
What we won't do
- No filler, no recycled takes, no AI slop.
- No “in today's fast-paced world”, no “leverage”, no “revolutionize”, no “game-changer”.
- No empty meta-commentary about the post itself.
- No filler transitions, no apologies, no hedging.
What we will do
- Source every factual claim. Date every statistic. Verify every tool as of publish day.
- Link to primary sources: docs, vendor blogs, research papers, GitHub releases. Not aggregators.
- Use specific nouns, concrete examples, dates and numbers. Direct address (“you” and “your team”), not “one” or “organizations”.
How it's built
The site, the pipeline, the standards: full receipts on the colophon. What we're working on next: /queue.
